General Manager of EcoCortec®, Dijana Zrinski, participated in ESG panel organized by Privredna banka Zagreb. The bank as part of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, one of the leading European banks group is very dedicated to socially responsible investing and environmental, social and management aspects in business. The goal of this ESG workshop was to familiarize clients with this important topic and provide real successful examples from practice. During this panel the speakers emphasized the importance of cooperation between companies, institutions and stakeholders. They discussed certain challenges they face and described how they successfully implemented business model based on sustainability. Socially responsible investing is rapidly gaining popularity all over Europe.It’s goal is to create value for the investor and for society as a whole through the implementation of strategies focused on the environment, society and good company management.

Business model that promotes environmentally safety is one of the main values of our EcoCortec® team. We are proud that our efforts were recognized by largest financial Institutions and that they are supporting our company. During the panel, Dijana Zrinski talked about how EcoCortec® is successfully implementing circular economy model in our plant’s operations. “The principles of our production and anti-corrosion solutions that we offer on the market are based on sustainable technologies. Sustainability is present in all spheres of our activities. For our company, it is crucial that all our present and future investments are targeted towards sustainable growth. For this reason, our last investment was directed towards building our own energy resources. We installed solar panels to generate electricity by collecting renewable energy from the sun and convert it to electrical energy. By using new, solar power system, we can achieve huge energy savings and decrease pressure on our atmosphere from the emission of greenhouse gases”, said Ms. Zrinski. She also described how our on-site reprocessing of plastic waste works in practice and all the mutual benefits that are gained from this project.

“Customers and other local businesses can send their used plastic bags back to Croatia to be recycled into new materials. EcoCortec® processes plastic waste from four main sources and our customers and other local businesses send their plastic waste back to us to be recycled into new materials.” By using this circular economy model we are able to significantly extend the life of materials produced in our plant” she concluded. Respect for the environment and people, responsible use of natural resources and general sustainability are increasingly important issues in everyday life. Even in the world of finance and investment, these concepts started becoming hugely important, to such an extent that today we can talk about sustainable finance. The concept of socially responsible investment became particularly relevant. In EcoCortec® we are proud that we are always few steps ahead and that we provide an example for other companies.
